Chronos ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information we collect

When you use Chronos, we collect the following information:

Account information: Your email address, username, and password (encrypted) when you create an account.
Schedule data: The tasks, time blocks, and day types you create within the app.
Completion data: Your task completion statuses (on time, timing off, missed) and discipline scores.
Evidence photos: Photos you optionally upload as proof of task completion. These are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 2 days.
Profile photo: An optional profile photo you upload.
Social data: Your follower and following lists, and follow requests.

2. How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Chronos app experience:

To create and maintain your account.
To save and display your schedule and discipline scores.
To enable social features such as following friends and viewing their schedules.
To send you notifications related to your schedule (with your permission).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We implement security rules that ensure only you can write to your own data, and only authenticated users can access the app's features.

Evidence photos are automatically deleted after 2 days to minimize data retention.

4. Third-party services

Chronos uses the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication: For secure account creation and sign-in.
Firebase Firestore: For storing your schedule and social data.
Firebase Storage: For storing evidence and profile photos.

These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access your data: All your data is visible within the app.
Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile page within the app. This action is irreversible.
Update your information: You can change your username and profile photo at any time.

6. Children's privacy

Chronos is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
