This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Chronos App, Inc. ("Chronos," "we," "us") collects when you use the Chronos mobile application (the "App") and website at chronosapp.info (together, the "Services"), how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: email address, username, display name, and a hashed password. We use Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password in plain text.
- Age confirmation: at signup you confirm you are at least 13 years old. We store a boolean flag ("over13"); we do not retain your birth date.
- Schedule and completion data: tasks, time blocks, day types, and the completion status you mark for each task (Early, On Time, Late, Missed) plus the resulting score.
- Evidence photos and videos: optional media you capture inside the App as proof of task completion. Location metadata (EXIF/GPS) is stripped from images before upload. Images are resized (max 1080px, ~150KB) before upload.
- Profile photo: optional. Resized to a maximum of 600px before upload.
- Social graph: your followers, users you follow, pending follow requests you sent or received, and any users you have blocked.
- Comments and reactions: comments you post on shared days and reactions (emoji) you leave on other users' tasks.
- Reports: if you report a user, comment, or piece of content, we retain the report and associated content for moderation purposes.
- Support communications: messages you send us by email.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic data: iOS version, device model, App version, crash logs, and general performance information. Collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics IDs are pseudonymous.
- Push notification token: when you enable notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token linked to your account so we can deliver notifications you have requested.
- IP address and general location: processed by our backend infrastructure (Firebase / Google Cloud) as part of ordinary request handling. We do not use this to derive precise location.
We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics beyond what is listed above, or the Apple IDFA.
2How we use your information
We use your information only to operate and improve the Services:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
3How we share your information
- With other users you approve. Chronos is approval-based: another user only sees your schedule, scores, and evidence media if you accept their follow request. Your username is discoverable in search.
- Service providers (sub-processors). We share information with vendors who host and operate the Services on our behalf. They are contractually bound to use it only to provide services to us:
- Google LLC / Firebase — Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging (push), Analytics, Crashlytics. Firebase privacy · Google privacy.
- Apple Inc. — App Store distribution and, if you enable them, iOS system services (notifications, sign-in). Apple privacy.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or necessary to investigate fraud, protect the rights or safety of users, or enforce our Terms.
- Corporate transactions. If Chronos is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

When you delete your account from the Profile screen inside the App, we permanently delete your account information, schedules, media, comments, and social graph from active systems, and purge backups on the schedule above. Deletion is irreversible.
5Data security
We use Firebase, which provides encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our Firestore and Storage security rules restrict reads and writes so that each user can only access their own data and data explicitly shared with them under the approval-based follow model. Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and never stored in plain text. Evidence photos are stripped of EXIF/GPS metadata before upload.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you and any authorities as required by applicable law.
6International transfers
Chronos is operated from the United States. Our sub-processors (Google/Firebase, Apple) may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
7Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access — see the information we hold about you.
- Correction — fix inaccurate information. You can edit your username and profile photo from inside the App.
- Deletion — delete your account and associated data from the Profile screen inside the App at any time, or email us to request deletion.
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / restriction — object to or restrict certain processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (for example, push notifications), you can withdraw it in iOS settings or inside the App.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise a right, email ethanb@chronosapp.info. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 for the business purposes described in Section 2. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise them, email us as above.
8Children's privacy
Chronos is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. At signup, users must confirm they are 13 or older. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us at ethanb@chronosapp.info.
If you are between 13 and 16 and located in the EEA or UK, some rights described above may only be exercised with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
9Notifications
Chronos sends local iOS notifications (scheduled by the App on your device) and, if you opt in, push notifications delivered by Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can disable notifications at any time from iOS Settings → Notifications → Chronos.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you inside the App or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
